Q. Why register with CA Food Safety Exams for my Food Manager Certification?

A. We offer the best food manager classes in California! Our instructors are personable and make sitting in class fun. We also offer smaller class sizes for a more interactive and enhanced learning environment. Everything we do is with the intent to adapt to multiple learning styles and prepare you for the Food Manager Certification exam.

Q. Who needs to be Food Manager certified?
A. At least 1 person in each food establishment in the state of California must be Food Manager Certified. Studies show that having more than 1 certified food manager can help to reduce the risk of a foodborne 
illness. 

 


Q. How do I become Food Manager Certified?
A. You must pass an approved and accredited food safety exam, such as the ServSafe Food Manager Certification exam we offer.

Q. What is the Pluck! online course?

A. The Pluck! Food Manager Course was designed to prepare you for your food manager certification exam. We plucked out all the information you need. 


Q. What is the difference between a ServSafe or an NRFSP class?
A. ServSafe and the
National Registry of Food Safety Professionals (NRFSP) are both nationally ANSI-accredited food safety exams and certificates. Both of these certifications are acceptable. 

 


Q. What if I don't pass?
A. If you don't pass your first time, we will offer you a discounted rate for a retake exam. You are not required to retake the class; however, you are welcome to with no additional cost (this applies to instructor-led classes only). The discounted retake exam must be taken within 3 months of the original test date. The discounted rate only applies to the person who registered for the original exam. 

 


Q. My ServSafe certificate is going to expire, how do I get recertified?
A. You can quickly and easily purchase our ServSafe Food Manager Certification Exam Only to bypass the class and just take the ServSafe Food Manager Certification exam. If you'd like a refresher course that is convenient for you, we suggest purchasing our Pluck! bundle to take an online course and practice exam before scheduling your ServSafe Food Manager Certification exam with us. 

 


Q. How long is my Food Manager Certification good for?
A. Your Food Manager Certification is valid for 5 years in the state of California.

Q. What about lunch breaks? 

A. Most of our class locations are at restaurants where you can purchase food at the location. 


Q. What materials do I need to bring to class?
A. You must bring a government-issued, photographic ID. For example, a California Drivers License, California ID card, passport, resident card, etc.


Q. How will I receive my certificate?
A. For our Food Manager Certification Class & Exam, you will receive your results via email within 10 business days. If you're being recertified and are taking our Food Manager Certification Exam Only, you have the option to take your exam electronically and receive your results instantly. A printable certificate is included for those who receive a passing grade of 70% or higher (you may also request a hard copy through the ServSafe website for an additional $10.00 fee).


Q. I own more than one restaurant, is my certificate good for all of them? 
A. If you are the only one who has a Food Manager Certification for all facilities, that is illegal. Each restaurant must have at least one certified employee specific to that facility. 

 


Q. Do you offer private classes?
A. Yes, our Private On-Site Food Manager Certification Class & Exam is offered for groups of 5 or more that can be scheduled at your convenience and preferred location. Available in English & Spanish


Q. Are corporate discounts available?
A. Yes, we do offer corporate discounts. Please email customerservice@cafoodsafetyexams.com for more information.


Q. What if I register for a class and can no longer attend?
A. Since exam booklets are ordered once you register for a class and exam, there are no refunds; however, we will work with you on rescheduling if you give us advanced noticed that you are unable to make the class date. If you don't give us advanced notice, you will be able to reschedule with a $25 fee. Please keep your proof of payment from the original class.
